Our Mission
ʻAʻa i ka hula, waiho i ka makaʻu i ka hale
— Dare to dance, leave shame at home
This ʻōlelo noʻeau (Hawaiian proverb) guides everything we do at Hālau Kaulakahi. We believe hula is for everyone — a powerful art form that connects us to the land, the ancestors, and each other. Our mission is to create a welcoming space where students can embrace the beauty of hula without fear or hesitation.
What We Offer
Hālau Kaulakahi offers hula classes for all levels — from keiki (children) to kūpuna (elders), and from first-time beginners to experienced dancers. Our classes cover both hula kahiko (ancient hula) and hula ʻauana (modern hula), along with Hawaiian language, chant, and cultural protocol.
Whether you are looking to deepen your practice or take your very first step, we welcome you with open arms and the spirit of aloha.
